Jar Launcher also launches a class in the same manner. Jar Launcher is the program in Mac OS X that launches JavaJAR files into the Aqua/Java runtime environment when the JAR file is double clicked. How can I dig further? Is there an Event Viewer type of thing on the Mac? (Can you tell I'm an ex-PC user?) Or am I doing something wrong in not launching this properly?Īny advice at all regarding this would be helpful! I tried just simply running Jar Launcher.app alone, and I get the same result (which is nothing)! No new application appears on the screen. When I double-click the GIFTS.jar icon in Finder, nothing happens. It runs from a terminal window (using java -jar GIFTS.jar), but in Finder, this GIFTS.jar is associated with /System/Library/CoreServices/Jar Launcher.app. I tried running a Java *.jar file on my Mac today for the first time.
